Resolver comprising a rotor, a stator, a primary winding to which a voltage is applied, and secondary windings in which electromotive forces develop which are used to determine the angular position of the rotor. The resolver is characterised in that the primary winding is carried by two flat, transverse supports connected to the stator and in that the secondary windings are carried by two flat, transverse supports connected to the stator, and in that the said windings interact with rotating armatures connected to the rotor and made from a ferromagnetic material and do not have symmetry of revolution so that they each create a variable axial air gap. <IMAGE>
