PURPOSE:To enhance color reproductivity and dye storage stability by incorporating a color nondeveloping compound made of a specified sulfonylphenol type compound in a silver halide photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The color nondeveloping compound to be incorporated in the silver halide photographic sensitive material is represented by the formula shown on the right (each of R<1>, R<2> is H, halogen, or a group substitutable on a benzene ring, and they are not simultaneously H, and R<3> is alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic, alkoxy, aryloxy, heterocyclic oxy, or amino), thus permitting blocking of diffusion of a developing solution and quinonediimine or the like into an oil in the case of the oil-protected type color development of the photosensitive material to be improved, anionization of a coupler to be promoted, and superior color to be developed, and storage stability of the dye and color development performance to be improved. |
