PURPOSE:To obtain a linear light source having a clear boundary of lighting and unlighting by aligning many light emitting diodes in series through a light shielding plate, coating each with a light emitter made of colored transparent epoxy region, and eccentrically displacing the centers of diodes in the light emitter when the entire surface is coated with a transparent case cover as a light emitting element. CONSTITUTION:Many GaP green light emitting diodes 13 are aligned in series while a pair of parallel leads 11, 12 are projected out of a case on a substrate, a light shielding plate is interposed therebetween, and the diodes 13 are enclosed with a light emitter 16 made of colored transparent epoxy resin 15. Thereafter, the surface of the emitter 16 is coated with a transparent cover of the case as the desired light emitting element. In this structure, the centers of the diodes 13 disposed in the emitter 16 are displaced to one wall sides so that one side of the surface of the emitter 16 is bright and the other side is dark in a linear light source. Thus, the lighting and the unlighting can be clearly known to be adapted for a light source of an image processor. |
