PURPOSE:To impart a titled recording material remarkably sperior resistance to a fluorescent pen writing, by providing a protective layer having resistance to a specific solvent on a thermal color developing layer in the thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material of two-component color developing system comprises a thermal color developing layer containing a colorless or light-colored electron donative dye precursor and an electron acceptant compound which develops color by reacting to the electron donative dye precursor. On the thermal color developing layer, a protective layer is formed which contains a polymer with a 10% on over (by weight) degree of swelling to triethanolamine. Therefore, the thermal recording material can be obtained wherein the application of an ink containing a solvent with a 150 deg.C or above boiling point for writing utensils, such as a commercially available fluorescent pen, does not induce the color development reaction in a non-printed portion as well as the decoloring in a printed portion. |
