PURPOSE:To detect wear at high speed with high precision by using a light guide of an optical fiber and an image fiber to pick up the image of a contact wire and comparing the height of the contact wire in the image with a reference height of the contact wire to operate the quantity of wear. CONSTITUTION:A detector consists of a detecting head 3 where aperture ends of an optical fiber 5 through which the light is projected to the side face of a contact wire 1 and an image fiber 4 which receives the reflected light are arranged, an image sensor 6, a controller 7, a picture processing device 10, a display device 13, a slide resistance 16, etc. When the side face of the contact wire 1 is irradiated by the optical fiber 5, the reflected light is inputted to the picture processing device 10 through the image fiber 4 and the image sensor 6, and a value H obtained by correcting an apparent height H' of the contact wire on the display device 13 with a length L+ or -DELTAL between the contact wire 1 and the detecting head is operated and is compared with a reference height 2R (R is the radius of the contact wire 1) of the contact wire 1 to detect the quantity of wear of the contact wire 1. Thus, the quantity of wear is measured at high speed with high precision. |
