PURPOSE:To attain the optional masking and superposing processes among plural sheets of picture data by using a mask memory of a mask information storing means, a mask processing circuit of a mask information converting means and a picture processing circuit containing a mask means and a synthesizing means. CONSTITUTION:In a circuit which smoothes mask areas A and B at a time, the mask data of upper two bits out of the picture data of 10 bits is separated by a mask data separating circuit 41. While an MSB and an LSB of 2 bits are smoothed by a mask smoothing circuits 43a and 43b. Just a single type of both smoothed mask data 62 nd 63 is selected by a selector 45 with a selection signal 47. While the superposed area of two masks is detected by an AND circuit 44 and the output of the selector 45 is synthesized with the output of the circuit 44 by a bit synthesizing circuit 46 and then converted again into the smoothed mask data 64 of two bits. The synthesizer 46 contains a decoder and sets the 1-bit mask data given from the selector 45 or the output of the circuit 44 at the MSB. Then a bit synthesizer 47 adds the picture data to the lower 8 bits to obtain the picture data 50 of 10 bits. |
