PURPOSE:To improve a floating characteristic by providing an angle of elevation in the air flow inlet part of a slider whose surface is formed to a circular arc or parabolic shape. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head slider 21 has plural side rails 22 on the upper face, a front end rail 23, and a recessed part 24, and side rails 22 and the front end rail 23 are formed to circular arc or parabolic shapes, and a flat part 25 which is the air flow-in part and has an angle is provided in the part of the front end rail 23. When a magnetic disc 3 starts the rotate, flowed-in air is increased by the angle alpha provided in the front end to improve floating, and a front end (a) is not brought into contact with the surface of the magnetic disc 3, and the magnetic head slider 21 and the magnetic disc 3 are not damaged. |
