INGOT CUTTER FOR HORIZONTAL AND CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To cut an ingot without troubles and to prevent the damage of a conveying table by shock by turning a cutting machine of which an upper blades ascends or descends with respect to a lower blade in the moving direction of the ingot in synchronization with the drawing of the ingot and pressing the upper blade to an arm in the stage of descending thereby pushing the upper blade downward. CONSTITUTION:A piston 8 of the cutting machine 1 in the vertical state relative to the ingot 2 is actuated to lower the upper blade 7 when the intermittently drawn ingot attains a prescribed length. The upper blade 7 is further lowered until the ingot 2 is cut and the cutting machine 1 is turned around the pivotal part A at the top end in the moving direction of the ingot in synchronization with the movement of the ingot 2 by a cylinder 10 at the same instant when the upper blade 7 first descends and penetrates the ingot 2. Rollers 9 provided on both sides of the upper blade 7 contact with the arm 11 to push the arm 11 downward upon descending of the upper blade 7. A roller table 16 is pushed down integrally with the arm 11 in this stage.
