The bicycle crankshaft bearing comprises a housing in which the crankshaft, equipped with shoulders, runs in two single-row grooved ball-bearings. The latter work in plastics races in the housing. Each plastics race is split into two or more similar segmentary sections, each typically with an annular peripheral portion and two collars protruding inwards from it, spaced apart for an amount corresponding to the ball-bearing width. These collars can extend inwards as far as the bearing inner race, or past it to fit in grooves in the crankshaft. |
