PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to incorporate an excellent heat dischargeable dye into a nonphotosensitive layer by incorporating a specified cyanine dye or its salt and a base precursor into the layer. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has a substrate, a photosensitive layer contg. a silver halide and a reducing agent and a nonphotosensitive layer contg. a cyanine dye represented by the formula or its salt and a base precursor. In the formula, R<1> is H, an aliphatic group, an arom. group, -NR<21> R<24> , -OR<21> or -SR<21> , R<21> and R<24> are each H, an aliphatic group or an arom. group, R<21> and R<24> may bond to each other to form an N-contg. hetero ring, R<2> is H, an aliphatic group or an arom. group, R<3> is an aliphatic group, L<1> is a methine chain comprising an odd number of methine groups, Z<1> an Z<2> are each an atomic group forming a 5- or 6-membered N-contg. hetero ring to which an arom. ring may be condensed and the N-contg. hetero ring and the condensed ring may have substituents. |
