The invention relates to a tennis racquet with a single string sliding in small wheels 2 to 33 concealed in the frame of the stringing, which string is tightened or retightened automatically by the action of two springs A and B arranged in the handle of the said racquet, which springs are themselves adjustable by means of a movable slider C on which they are fixed 1 and 34. This slider C is displaced on a threaded rod D which is integral with a roller E placed at the end of the handle. This roller E is equipped with a circular female rack M. The end of the handle has the plug N carrying the circular male rack L.
