PURPOSE:To reduce the number of the parts of a flat battery and to suppress the reduction of its preservation characteristic by using a metallic sealing plate having a slanting area corresponding to the periphery of the generation element and a recessed area in close contact with the generation element and sticking an insulating resin to the peripheries of sealing plates with a thermoadhesive resin. CONSTITUTION:Elastic metallic sealing plates such as stainless steel sealing plates 11 each having an area 11a slanting outward and recessed area 11b in close contact with a positive active material 2, a separating layer 3 and a negative active material 4, are placed over the upper and the lower surfaces of the generation element 1. The peripheral area 11c of the sealing plates 11 are stuck to an insulating resin such as an ultramacromolecular polyethylene 9 with a thermoadhesive resin such as a maleic-anhydride-denatured polyethylene 10 interposed. Due to the above structure, a smaller number of parts are used to produce the battery because a frame-like metallic caulking plate is unnecessary. Furthermore, even when the battery is stored at high temperature and humidity, stable pressure contact between the sealing plates 11 and the generation element 1 is maintained and the deterioration of the battery is inhibited. |
