PURPOSE:To produce fish meal suppressing the formation of gizzerosine which is a substance causing the gizzard erosion and ulcer, by heating and drying fish meal in the presence of an amino acid. CONSTITUTION:Fish meal is produced by steaming, pressing and separating fish meat, and finally drying the meal with heat to a water-content of about 10%. In the above conventional process for the production of fish meal, an amino acid such as lysine, valine, glycine, etc., is added to the fish meal before drying, mixed uniformly and dried with heat. The mount of the amino acid is about 0.5-10% for red-meat fish meal and about 0.2-5% for white-meat fish meal based on the weight of dried fish meal. |
