In a rotating Doppler radio beacon, the frequency modulation of the sideband signals must be monitored, among other things. For this purpose, a monitoring device is provided which contains a monitoring dipole (102). The sideband signals are radiated by sideband antennas (1) arranged on a circle. In the novel rotating Doppler radio beacon, the said frequency modulation can be monitored even when the monitoring dipole is arranged close to the sideband antennas. <IMAGE>
