The invention relates to pliers for detaching the adhesive block from the spectacle glass machined on its edge in a grinding machine, with two jaws forming the bit of the pliers. The adhesive block should be detachable from the spectacle glass reliably and in a short time without impairing the spectacle glass, using easily handled and constructionally simple means. For this purpose, the free jaw ends (15a, 16a) can be splayed at least up to the external diameter of the block (3) and are curved with a radius which corresponds to the radius of the root section (7) of the adhesive block (3). <IMAGE>
