<p>A retractor for an emergency locking seat belt, having as the main constituent members thereof a spindle (7), a rocking member (9) fitted loosely into the spindle (7) and provided with meshing teeth (10) on the periphery thereof, a lock member (5) provided with internal teeth (6) engaged with the meshing teeth (10) on the rocking member (9), a synchro-gear (15) adapted to be rotated frictionally with respect to the spindle (7) to thereby engage the rocking member (9) with the lock member (5), and an acceleration-sensing means (23) provided so as to be engaged with the synchro-gear (15), wherein the construction of the spindle (7), rocking member (9) and synchro-gear (15) has been improved. Said rocking member (9) has a support tooth (11) in addition to the meshing teeth (10), and the synchro-gear (15) is provided with a balance weight (19) for correcting the deviation of the center of gravity of the rocking member (9) from the center of rotation of the spindle. A reinforcing plate (8') is provided on the spindle (7), and projections (8) are formed thereon. These projections (8) are protruded from the upper surface of the rocking member (9) so as to prevent the rocking member (9) from being floated and disengaged. Thus the obtained emergency locking seat belt has a light weight and a simple construction and the lock mechanism can be operated with a high reliability in any condition in an emergency.</p> |
