Optical distance, shape and position detection sensor

The optical contactless sensing device permits both the distance, the position and/or the shape of the sensed measured object to be determined within a certain measuring range. The device does not require any mechanical moving components. The object is achieved in that a structure is imaged on the object to be sensed by means of an astigmatically imaging optical system. In a plane which is conjugated with respect to the structural plane, image sensors with point-by-point resolution are arranged behind a structure which corresponds to the object structure. The image which is modulated by the object to be sensed is detected by them. In the case of the output signal sequences being suitably processed, distance, shape, and position of the object to be sensed can be inferred from them.
