PURPOSE:To remove cooling water on the web and to improve the accuracy of measurement for temperature by installing an upper guide collecting water on an upper horizontal roll, a water sucking device sucking cooling water on the upper guide and the web, and a gas nozzle collecting cooling water on the web. CONSTITUTION:The majority of roll cooling water jetted from water nozzles 12 is collected into an upper guide 18 and is discharged to an ejector through a water sucking pipe 30 when the top of the upper guide 18 is brought into contact with the rolling plane of an upper horizontal roll 10 by actuation of a tension rod 24. On the other hand, a little cooling water dropped on the web 34 from a gap between the top of the guide 18 and the roll 10 or a gap between a side plate 16 of the guide 18 and the flange of an H-beam 9 is collected by air or steam jetted from a gas nozzle 36, and then is discharged from a water sucking hole 26 through the water sucking pipe 30. Therefore, the roll cooling water does not remain on the web 34, so that the web 34 is prevented from cooling, both a temperature difference between the flange and the web 34 after rolling and residual stresses are reduced. |
