A process in which an obliquely-operated insertion-type pump (11) is introduced by means of an adjustment system (27) in the pump housing (23) of an internal combustion engine and which ensures a constant supply for all insertion-type pumps of an engine, without any correction being needed to the quantity of the supply. When the supply adjustment element is secured in the test position, the insertion pump introduced in the testing unit is made to rotate until the supply matches the amount required. In this rotation position a fixing pin (28), supported in the flange (24) of the insertion pump and accommodated in a recess in the testing unit, is adjusted and secured in position. With the adjustment bar (21) of the motor locked in the basic test position a fixing groove (33) designed to receive the fixing pin (28) of a setting plate (32), which can be fixed to the pump housing (23) is brought, by means of a dummy pump, into a corresponding rotary position. After removal of the dummy pump, the insertion pump is secured in the pump housing (23) of the internal combustion engine with the fixing pin (28), which is introduced into the fixing groove (33). The adjustment system (27) which consists of the fixing pin (28) on the pump flange and the fixing groove (33) in the setting plate (32) also enables re-setting in the event of errors and in the case of a repair. |
