In this device, the output of a noise amplifier (21) is connected to the control input of an electronically controllable switch (13) via a delay element (22). A control signal generator (20) for controlling the sensitivity of the thread cleaners (2) consists of an electronically controllable potentiometer (23), the control input of which represents the input of the control signal generator (20). Its output is connected to a light source (10) via an electronically controllable switch (24) whilst the control input of the electronically controllable switch (24) is connected to an adjustable feed source (25) via an electronically controllable switch (26). The control input of the switch (26) is connected to a terminal of the control unit (8) whilst the output of an amplifier (12) is connected to the input of the noise amplifier (21) via a filter (27). <IMAGE>
