PURPOSE:To provide an optical information-recording medium having high sensitivity and a long useful life, by providing a recording film comprising lead or a lower oxide of lead as a main constituent and comprising a specified amount of alkyl molecular groups. CONSTITUTION:The recording film 2 comprising a lower lead oxide PbOx (0<x<1) as a main constituent together with 10-60 at.% of alkyl molecular groups (-CH, -CH2, -CH3) and having a thickness of about 1,000Angstrom is provided on a base 1 consisting of an acrylic resin plate. When a predetermined part of the recording film 2 is irradiated with energy beams 4, for example, laser beams, the alkyl groups at the irradiated part are decomposed by heat, and only PbOx as the main constituent is left, resulting in a structurally deformed part 5. The deformed part 5 namely, PbOx is converted to PbO through a reaction with oxygen in the atmospheric air at the high temperature at the time of writing, and further reacts with water and carbon dioxide in the atmospheric air to finally become PbCO3, which is white colored and is stable in air. The reflectance of PbO and PbCO3 to semiconductor laser light of a wavelength of 750-900nm is about 70%, which value is sufficiently higher than that of PbOx 3, so that information can be recorded. |
