PURPOSE:To shorten the time of inhibition of speed shift, by controlling the time of inhibition of shift of one of speed change gears in accordance with the temperature of oil during shift of the other speed change gear. CONSTITUTION:An automatic speed change gear 20 is composed of a main speed change gear 20a and a counter speed change gear 20b. A control circuit 30 receives signals from sensors disposed in several section in a vehicle, includ ing an engine 10 and the automatic speed change gear 20. Reference numeral 27 denotes a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of hydraulic oil in the automatic speed change gear 20. The control circuit 30 is composed of a microcomputer and performs control operation as follows: At first the temperature of oil is determined after determination of the throttle opening degree, and one of previously determined times of inhibition of speed shift is selected in accordance with the throttle opening degree and the temperature of oil. In this arrangement since the time of inhibition of speed shift is set such that the higher the temperature of oil, the shorter the time of inhibition becomes, a rapid speed shift may be made as the temperature of oil is elevated. |
