<p>Method and apparatus for the characterization and/or control of substances, materials and objects, based upon means (2) for thermal excitation on the object (1) and a detection system (3 - 6) adapted to measure the resulting change in thermal radiation from the object. There is included means (11, 12) for providing a relative mouvement between the thermal excitation means (2), respectively the detection system (3 - 6) and the object (1). The excitation means (2) is adapted to deliver a continuous thermal excitation which can be heating or cooling by mechanical contact, with gas or a flame, ultrasound or an electron beam or possibly another particle beam or electromagnetic radiation.</p> |
