<p>An alkali metal electro-chemical storage cell comprising anode and cathode regions (12, 13) containing alkali metal (14) and cathodic reactant respectively, a cationically conductive solid electrolyte member (11) separating the anode and cathode regions (12, 13) and respective anode and cathode current collectors (17, 20), is formed with a contact breaker region (26) which in the event of a breach is the electrolyte member (11) functions to make the cell become an open circuit and thus not provide a discharge path for any other cells connected thereto.</p> |
