PURPOSE:To absorb a play and improve a feeling in hand brake operation by setting a distance from the turning center of a hand brake lever at a further position when a brake cable starts contacting, and at a near position thereafter. CONSTITUTION:One end of a brake cable 8 is hooked just below a shaft 5 at the root of a hand brake lever 3 almost in a leveled-off condition. By turning the hand brake lever 3 to a position shown by a broken line, the cable 8 is pulled along the external shape of the root 4. And a further position where the cable 8 contacts the root 4 is taken at l1 and the trailing position thereof is taken at l2 respectively, and a distance between l1 and l2 is so taken as to be continuously variable in the course of pulling the cable 8. As a result, the displacement of the cable 8 becomes large for the turning angle of the brake lever 3 at the start of the turning thereof, thereby absorbing a play and improving a feeling in operating the hand brake lever 3. |
