PURPOSE:To decrease the cycle number of speed shifts during exhaust brake operation, by increasing the value of shift-up speed during exhaust brake operation, and by setting the value of shit-down speed. CONSTITUTION:When an exhaust brake is actuated, an automatic controller detects the operation of the brake to increase the value P2 of shift-up speed to a value higher its normal value while the value P4 of shift-down speed is decreased to a value lower than its normal value. Thereby, the timing of shift-up or shift-down delays, and therefore, a speed shift is not always necessary during reacceleration and therefore, it is possible to decrease the cycle number of speed shift. Further, in addition, temporary racing due to speed shift during exhaust brake operation may be prevented, thereby it is possible to satisfy the effect of braking. |
