PURPOSE:To enable two en letters to be printed by the width of one em letter of odd-number dots/by a method in which mode information to show en from upper device and letter code to show printing data are taken in and en is alternately controlled for odd-number dots and even-number dots by mode information and letter pattern data. CONSTITUTION:Data from upper device are sent through a data bus 101 to a code register 110. The data are composed of M bit to designate whether disignated letters are of em (where M=0) or en (when M=1) and a predetermined code byte. The values put in a print buffer address register 122, although being added in an adder 121,/depend on output signals of an en number flip-flop 115 and signals to show em/en. The adder 121 consists of +27(decimal system) circuit, +14(decimal system) circuit, +18(decimal system) circuit, and a multiplexer for selecting any one of these. The multiplexer of the adder 21 selects either of +14 circuit or +13 circuit on the basis of output signals from the above M-bit and the en number flip-flop 115, and the em processing of odd-number dots is carried out. |
