Adsorption process

An adsorption process operated by the pressure swing principle is proposed for the purification or fractionation of a gas mixture. Flushing gases, which are required for the regeneration of a loaded adsorber at the lowest operating pressure, are either branched off as a part-stream from the product gas or are obtained in the depressurization of a loaded adsorber. The pressure reduction to the flushing gas pressure is carried out in this case by expansion performing work.
