The perlite mill according to Fig. 1 has the trough casing 1 and the agitator cylinder 2 equipped with disc-casing-shaped or conical-casing-shaped rotors 11, 13 and stators 10, 12 which form relatively narrow radial milling gaps, which rotors 11, 13 and stators 10, 12 are provided with a plurality of axial through-openings of any desired cross-section, which is however preferably round, oval or slot-shaped and matched to the diameter of the perlite, in order to avoid blockages of perlite upstream of the mill outlet caused by the flow pressure of the material for milling on the perlite and in order to apply milling energy to the conglomerate of perlite and material for milling via a combination of thrust, expulsion and friction, in which case the rotor discs and stator discs can be attached, for the sake of easier handling, to bars sliding axially in trough grooves and agitator cylinder grooves. <IMAGE>
