<p>New herbicidal preparations in concentrate form are aq. emulsions contg. (a) 10-75 wt.% >=1 herbicidal 2, 6-dinitroaniline deriv. having a water solubility at 25 degrees C of 100 ppm (by wt.) and a m.pt. of -10 to +150 degrees C, (b) 0-60 wt.% of a water-immiscible solvent (the herbicide and the solvent forming a homogeneous disperse phase), (c) 0.5-10 wt.% of an emulsified, and (d) 15-70 wt.% of an aq. soln. of an inorganic salt, the concn. of the inorganic salt in the aq. soln. being is not 5 wt.%. The concentrates are stable under varied storage conditions and involves less fire risk than conventional concentrates of 2,6-dinitroaniline derivs. in organic solvents. Their content herbicide is high, and they readily disperse in water to give spray formulations which remain dispersed for several hours. In an example, 1 litre concentrate consists of 500g trifluralin (purity 96%), 230g xylene, 40g emulsifier, and 310g aqueous 15% NaCl. The concentrate is produced by dissolving the trifluralin and emulsifier in the xylene and adding the NaCl soln. with stirring.</p> |
