PURPOSE:To share a control program without modifying it even if a top address in an area capable of writing information is changed by making a logical address showing a user data recording area or the difference between physical and logical addresses into a format. CONSTITUTION:An address part 1 is constructed with a physical address part 4 including physical address information showing an absolute address in a recording area, a logical address part 5 including logical address information showing the recording area of user data and a sector mark 3 used for reading an address. After the sector mark 3 is detected, an optical information recording and reproducing device reads the physical address 4 and the logical address 5, and records and reproduces data. In terms of recording and reproducing the user data, the read-out logical address is used, whereby the modification of the control program of the device is unnecessary even if the user data area such as the format of the optical disk and its size is modified. |
