A liquid, ungelled composition of matter composed of a graft copolymer prepared by the free radical initiated polymerization in an organic meidum of a vinyl monomer component which contains at least 0.5 weight percent of an epoxy group containing vinyl monomer in the presence of an acid group containing polymer having an acid value greater than 10mg KOH/g. One means of graft formation is the condensation reaction between the acid groups of the acid group containing polymer and the epoxy groups of the vinyl monomer component.
