A security hinge to prevent illegal or unauthorised removal of a casement mounted on a frame when the casement is closed comprises leaves 5 and 6 mounted on the frame and casement respectively and a hinge pin 7 extending through the frame leaf 5 and a boss 18 on the casement leaf 6 for movement of the casement about a pivot axis H spaced outwardly from but parallel to the plane of the frame. The frame leaf 5 has side and front flanges 12 and 13 respectively which confine the casement boss 18 on the front and outer sides of the hinge and thereby prevent Sideways or forwards movement of the casement from the frame if the hinge pin 7 is removed when the casement is closed.
