Liquid detergent compositions having softening and detergency properties comprise an alkyl glycoside, a quaternary ammonium compound, a nonionic surfactant and an anionic surfactant as the four essential ingredients; and a method of simultaneously cleaning and softening, without reducing brightener and detergency performance, comprises treating fabrics with the compositions in the wash cycle of the laundering operation. |
