PURPOSE:The titled DNA fragment, containing a human beta-actin gene having exon, intron and about 250 nucleic acid base sequences adjacent to the above- mentioned exon and useful as an actin-specific probe, etc. CONSTITUTION:A DNA fragment containing human beta-actin gene having 6 exons, 5 introns and about 250 nucleic acid base sequences adjacent to the first exon on the 5'-terminal side. One large intron is present following the first exon, and the second has 6 nontranslation region nucleotides on the upstream side of an ATG starting codon and 4 introns are present in the coding region corresponding to the 41st/42nd, 121st/122nd, 267th and 327th/328th amino acids. The region coding the amino acids is present in the second - sixth exons, and nontranslation regions are present in the first, second and sixth exons. The DNA fragment is useful for elucidating mechanisms of cell differentiation and cancinogenesis, etc. |
