PURPOSE:To enhance a thermal color forming capacity, in a color forming recording material containing a methine dye as a color formable substance and a benzoquinone compound as a coupling substance, by allowing a specific carboxylic amide compound to coexist. CONSTITUTION:A specific carboxylic amide compound is one represented by formula I (wherein R1 is an aryl group or an aralkyl group, R2 is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, and aralkyl group or an aryl group and R1 and R2 may respectively have a substituent) and one with m.p. of 70-150 deg.C is appropriately selected corresponding to the color forming characteristic of a thermal recording material before use. Concretely, benzoic-o-toluide, o-toluic-p-toluide, 1-naphthylacetic dodecylamide, etc., are designated and one of or two or more of these carboxylic amides is used. In general, they are largely used in a state of an aqueous suspension of fine particles. A thermal recording material is prepared according to a conventional producing method. |
