PURPOSE:To contrive to shorten working time and to simplify work, by calculating the position of the register mark of a final printing unit by counting the pulse from a pulse generator and setting a gate for extracting the register mark of each printing unit from said position and the paper route length of a rotary press. CONSTITUTION:A register mark A-row signal is discriminated from the one-rotation signals of plate cylinders detected by the register automatic adjusting detectors 502-50n-50l provided to the final printing units 201-20n-20l of a multicolor gravure rotary press. The phases of rotation of plate cylinders are calculated from the pulse signals taken out from the pulse generators provided to the plate cylinders 401, 402-40n-40l and the positions of the register marks of the final printing units are specified from the register mark row signal and the phases of rotation. In printing units other than the final printing units, the positions of register marks are indexed by reverse operation from the positions of the register marks of the final printing units. The gate for extracting the register mark of each printing unit is set from each indexed position to extract the register mark. |
