STRAP FORMATION FOR LEAD STORAGE BATTERY PLATE GROUP AND PRECAST MOLD FOR STRAP THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To perform welding work in short time by welding a precast mold for strap and respective lug section to be inserted into respective insertion hole while fitting respective lug insertion hole made through lead or lead alloy mold to the lug section of respective plate having same polarity thus forming a strap. CONSTITUTION:Respective lug insertion hole 15 of precast mold 11 for strap is fitted to the lug section 22 of respective plate having same polarity. After mounting said mold 11 onto the lug section 22, a stop metal 23 is applied below said mold 11. Said metal 23 is formed into a comb to be inserted into respective lug section 22. Then flux is applied onto the welding portion 24 between the upper face of mold 11 and the tip section 22a of lug section 22 inserted into respective insertion hole 14. Thereafter, said portion 24 is fused through burner or laser.
