PURPOSE:To form an Ag-Al alloy film having superior tarnish resistance and fine silver white color on the surface of a material for ornamental parts by simultaneously coating the surface of the material with Ag and Al under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a substrate of glass, stainless steel, silver or the like for an ornament is simultaneously coated with Ag and Al by a dry coating means such as vapor deposition, ion plating or sputtering with two evaporating sources of Ag and Al under the conditions of 5-50Angstrom /sec rate of deposition and >=300 deg.C temp. of the substrate to form an Ag-Al alloy film contg. 20-50wt% Al. This alloy film has fine silver white color peculiar to Ag and the superior sulfurization resistance, so tarnish is prevented. |
