PURPOSE:To execute padding of a different kind of material of a high melting point, which is excellent in heat resistance, resistance to wear and corrosion resistance, to the surface of an aluminum base metal, by making a laser beam execute a reciprocating motion and irradiating it from on a copper padding alloy powder which has been applied or fed onto a padding position of the aluminum base metal. CONSTITUTION:To a padding position of an aluminum base metal 6, a copper padding alloy powder is applied in thickness of 0.2-5.0mm and dried, or fed automatically. A laser beam 2 which has been stopped down to a spot heat source of 0.5-5.0mm diameter through a lens 1 is irradiated by 80W/ mm<2>-20,000W/mm<2> laser output density from on this copper padding alloy powder. This laser beam is brought to a reciprocating motion by - 80Hz in the direction vertical to the working proceeding direction by an oscillating mirror 4, moved at a working speed of 100mm/min-3,000mm/min in the working proceeding direction, and a padding layer 8 is formed. |
