Plant comprises an open topped treatment vessel. The rim has an extraction box and column to remove aerated solvent. Lifting arrangement includes a holder for the article; it lowers it into andraises it from the vessel. The lifting arrangement has a cover which covers the vessel's open top when the holder is immersed, in the normal working position. Used to reduce loss of vapour from a solvent treatment vessel.
