PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a double layer woven fabric for paper making capable of improving drainage without causing reduction in strength, decreasing a traveling load and enabling an excellent paper layer formation. SOLUTION: This double layer woven fabric 1 for paper making is constituted of a complete texture by a woven fabric layer 2 at a paper making face side composed of warps 21 at the paper making face side and wefts 22 at the paper making face side and a woven fabric layer 3 at a traveling face side composed of warps 31 at the traveling face side and wefts 32 at the traveling face side. Since the ratio of cloth cover factor value of the woven fabric layer 2 at the paper making face side to the woven fabric layer 3 at the traveling face side is 1: (0.98-0.99), the ratio of projection space ratio is 1:(1-1.06) and the ratio of length between the wefts at the paper making face side and length between the wefts at the traveling face side is 1:(3.21-3.58), the woven fabric layer 2 at the paper making face side is dense, the woven fabric layer 3 at a traveling face side is coarse and difference in a covering degree between the woven fabric layer 2 at the paper making face side and the woven fabric layer 3 at a traveling face side is remarkable.
