PURPOSE:To obtain proper density, prevent the occurrence of fog, and obtain a clear copied picture image by supplying sufficient charge by an electrification controlling member containing dyestuff of complex salt of chromium and forming a uniform thin layer of developer. CONSTITUTION:The base material of a soft elastic body out of an elastic body and a soft elastic body constituting an electrification controlling member 5 is made to contain dyestuff of complex salt of chromium. After frictionally electrifying a developer 2 supplied on a developer supplying member 3 by frictional electrification between the member 3 and a developer carrier 4, the developer is carried to the member 5 to give sufficient uniform charge and to form a uniform thin layer of developer on the carrier 4. This thin layer is let fly to an electrostatic latent image in a developing area opposite to an electrostatic latent image carrier 6 to obtain a visible image. Thus, a proper quantity of developer corresponding to the electrostatic latent image adheres on the carrier 6, and adhesion of unnecessary developer on non-picture parts is eliminated, and a clear copied picture image having limited fog can be obtained. |
