PURPOSE:To lighten the maximum torsional stress working upon the inside of a coil by providing element wire of a spring which is elliptical in section to form a coil in such a manner that the short axis of the ellipse is parallel to the central axis of the spring. CONSTITUTION:A coiled spring 1 is formed by element wire 2 elliptical in section. The length of the short axis is y, and the 1 length of the long axis is x. A coil 3 is formed in such a manner that the short axis of the ellipse is parallel to the central axis Y-Y. Accordingly, stress applied to each part of the element wire 2 is equalized and a compared with the interval l between the element wire 12 of a conventional coiled spring, the interval between the element sire 2 is l+0.2d. Thus, the wide interval between the wire can be ensured. |
