The vehicle lock is positioned in the lower left-hand corner of the vehicle windscreen, permitting it to be viewed from the exterior, easily accessible, but without impeding the field of vision of the driver. It is opened with a key placed against the windscreen from the outside, and which induces a signal code from the lock to the central unit via a cable. The lock includes a casing with a thick base and walls and made of material, e.g. plastic, with low heat conduction properties. The top of the casing is of thin plastic with the ability to conduct heat four times better than the base. The casing is formed as a thin circular box contg. a coil which transmits a carrier wave with a range of approx. 20 cms. A signal lamp is fitted centrally on the top, and emits a flashing signal when the lock is locked, but is extinguished or transmits a different signal when the lock is open. A transfer fits on the inside of the windscreen, and the lock casing is adhered to it with line or pt. contact. It has a hole or transparent part, permitting passage of light from the lamp. |
