发明名称 THERMAL TRANSFER MATERIAL AND MULTICOLOR THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE:To form a precise multicolor image with excellent gradation properties of tone, by incorporating the first sublimable dye and the second sublimable dye having a hue different from that of the first dye and a sublimation starting temperature approximately equal to the sublimation finishing temperature of the first dye, into a thermal transfer recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer recording medium 1 comprises a dye-containing layer 3 comprising a sublimable dye on a heat-resistant base 2. The sublimation finishing temperature of the first sublimable dye is approximately equal to the sublimation starting temperature of the second sublimable due. The first dye starts to be sublimed at a temperature not lower then t1, and sublimation quantity thereof is substantially saturated at a temperature t2. The second dye starts to be sublimed at a temperature not lower than t3, which is approximately equal to t2, and the sublimation quantity thereof is substantially saturated at the sublimation finishing temperature t4. In the temperature range of t1-t2, the density of a recorded image based on the first dye increases as the applied temperature is elevated. In the temperature range of t3-t4, the mixing ratio of the first dye to the second dye is gradually varied, and the gradation variations of the hue of the recorded image can be controlled by regulating the applied temperature.
