PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as pharmaceuticals, etc., easily and economically, by reacting an alcohol with an amine, CO and O2 in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a complex of a univalent copper salt and an organic phosphorus compound. CONSTITUTION:A carbamic acid ester is produced by reacting an alcohol with an amine, CO and O2 in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a complex of a univalent copper salt and an organic phosphorus compound (e.g. an alkoxy, alkyl or amide derivative of phosphoric acid or phosphorous acid). The univalent copper salt is e.g. cuprous chloride, cuprous bromide, cuprous iodide, etc. |
