PURPOSE:To enhance the sensitivity, and to prevent an increase in fogs in preservation under high temps. by sensitizing with at least three kinds of different sensitizers, and incorporating simultaneously flat plate-shaped particles of silver iodobromide having specified thickness and specified diameter. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photosensitive material is prepared by sensitizing the material with at least three kinds of different sensitizers such as an unstable selenium sensitizer, a noble metal sensitizer, and a sulfur sensitizer, and incorporating flat plate-shaped particles of silver iodobromide whose at least 50% by number of the particles has <0.5mu thickness and whose particles having >=0.6mu diameter has the diameter >=5 times said particle thickness. Isoselenocynate, methylselenourea, etc. are used as siad selenium sensitizer, and sodium chloroaurate and potassium aurithiocyanate, etc. are used as the noble metal sensitizer. And a thiourea derivative, thiocyanate, etc. are used as the sulfur sensitizer. |
