PURPOSE:To provide an economical herbicide composition for paddy field, exhibiting extremely remarkable synergistic effect and low phytotoxicity, by using a dibenzylurea compound in combination with N-(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)-2- bromo-3,3-dimethylbutanamide. CONSTITUTION:The objective herbicide composition for paddy field contains (A) the dibenzylurea compound of formula (X is H or halogen; R<1> and R<2> are methyl or ethyl) [e.g. 1-benzyl-3-(alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl)urea, etc.] and (B) N-(1- methyl- 1-phenylethyl)-2-bromo-3,3-dimethylbutanamide at a weight ratio of 1:(0.5-2). The composition has remarkably extended herbicidal spectrum and range of application period, and is effective to perennial weeds as well as annual weeds from the early stage of germination to the growing stage. The effect lasts long, and the germination of weeds can be suppressed almost completely over the whole growing period of paddy rice plant by a single application. |
