PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid collision of a piston with a cylinder without largely reducing output refrigerating capacity in a refrigerating cycle device 110 using a linear compressor 1. SOLUTION: This refrigerating cycle device is provided with a position detecting sensor 23 to detect a position of the piston. When the detected position of the piston gets closer to a cylinder head over a predetermined limit position, it is determined that the piston has possibility of colliding with the cylinder, and at least one of heat exchange quantities at heat exchangers 21 and 22 and a valve opening of an expansion valve 4 is controlled in such a way that top clearance is enlarged.
